A new Jim O'Rourke album?!?!

I didn't even realize til I saw Pitchfork this morning! I'm so excited!! Has anyone heard it yet? My vinyl copy (and I sprung for an LP of Insignificance while I was at it) is now in the mail...

I actually just stumbled upon this at my local record store yesterday (how antiquated, eh?). Didn't pick it up as I am somewhat broke, but will get it soon. Pitchfork review sounded interesting indeed.

In case I'd forgotten why I hate Pitchfork:

"As with most of O'Rourke's pop output, you could imagine these ideas on any stock singer-songwriter or Sunday afternoon jazz record."

WTF??

But don't worry, Jim O'Rourke. I'll still buy your new album even if some musically illiterate hipster is incapable of any accurate description of your canon.

Weird. Does the guy mean that each song, individually, would somehow work both as "stock singer-songwriter" fare or "Sunday afternoon jazz", or does he mean that Jim O'Rourke has 2 kinds of songs: jazz, and singer-songwriter?

I'm sure that it's impossible to know what exactly he meant, since he probably was primarily concerned with how cool the phrase sounded, but I couldn't figure it out.

Not only is his syntax confusing, he's also just flat-out wrong.
