Looks like music list-making season is underway. Does it get earlier every year, like the just post-Halloween Christmas decorations at Macy's?
I'm afraid I'm going to have a hard time keeping up this year. I'm pretty sure I haven't heard even one of the albums on the AV Club's list all the way through.

That list is hilariously indie-consensus in nature. I have six out of the top ten, but really, as per usual, I'm just not that excited about any of those records (except maybe Phoenix, which is probably my favorite of the bunch). I'd much rather do the top ten Motown LPs that aren't What's Going On or Stevie Wonder's 70s albums. (Have you ever heard Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell's "You're All I Need" album? It's wall-to-wall awesome.) 2009 was a good year, with some good stuff that came out from artists I like. But it's pretty much not what I listened to at all this whole year.
Oddly enough, of the 5 or 6 albums I have from this list, the Phoenix album is the only one I just can't get into. I don't know what it is, but I'm having trouble getting that one.
I feel that I have a rock solid top 5 and that things may start to get a little wishy-washy after that, but I could be wrong.
And, like Eric, the albums of 2009 are not so much what I've been listening to this year. Give me "Top Ten Phish Shows of All Time" and I'm there!
